I have been looking into a lot of EA games and they use a lot of .big files. In order to attempt to mod them I need to find a way to decrypt them first. I have found all kinds of programs online that claim to do it, yet every time I try to open the file it doesn't recognize the file as a valid .big. So does anybody know of a program or a way to decrypt a program?
I think a lot of them are hit or miss. Not every game is moddable. I think a lot of it has to do with encrypting and not every game will be encrypted the same. some games will even have their own checksum that is damn near impossible to find or change like too human for instance. I am by no means an expert so don't take my word for it but that is just my opinion.
Caboose pretty much summed it up its defenite hit and miss with most EA games as they often use very diffrent encryption methods and even the 1s that can be decrypted getting the modified file to load and run after tweaking it can be a pain in the ass lol i tryed a american football title from EA managed to get it decrypted and tweaked n repacked but it threw fatal crashes while trying to load checksums aint too bad but changing them makes the files only usable on a jtag
