Call of Duty: Ghosts Double XP during launch weekend

Activision has announced a Double XP event for the launch of Call of Duty: Ghosts this November.
The event will take place from Friday, November 8 through to Monday, November 11 allowing players to earn twice the amount of XP for their multiplayer character as usual.
The event will apply to current-generation consoles given it is too early in the month for the PlayStation 4 release.
