Microsoft shocked and awed at this years E3 when they announced that the Xbox One would be getting backwards compatibility. This is something that Xbox fans have wanted for a long time and MS finally delivered, well if you are on the preview scheme for now at least. The backwards comaptibility works by packaging X360 games in a special container that is able to run on an Xbox 360 emulator on the Xbox One. It's clever stuff and works really well from what I have seen so far. You will be presented with an emulated Xbox 360 user interface and have access to x360 gamesaves, chat and all other features you can currently get on the old gen console. The one downside is that not all games are currently supported by this backwards compatibility, due to it being in beta and also others things such as liscensing etc... So here is a list of Xbox 360 games that you can currently play on the Xbox One. Please note that this list is subject to change as more games are given the green light. A Kingdom for Keflings A World of Keflings Alien Hominid HD Banjo-Kazooie Banjo-Tooie BattleBlock Theater Defense Grid Geometry Wars Evolved Hexic HD Jetpac Refuelled Kameo Mass Effect N+ Perfect Dark Perfect Dark Zero Super Meat Boy Toy Soldiers Toy Soldiers: Cold War Viva Piñata Viva Piñata: TIP Zuma As you can see, the list is not massive, however it is early doors and Microsoft will be adding games based on popularity, whether that be the most played or the most requested games on X360. If you have any of the games listed above either on digital download or on disk, you will be able to play them right now on your Xbox one if you are in the preview scheme, if you are not in the scheme yet, ask one of your friends on XPG for an invite! Have you tried it yet? If so let us know what you think ...
The most popular games will be made available first, so chances are we will see both of those games up soon.
I got some of the xbla games and bought mass effect at gamestop for 5$. Everything works great. I like how you can press back and menu button and xbox360 guide opens up. Also 360rev and Obytos Mass effect game save editor works on gamesaves still
