just turned my jtag on and got a message saying a system update is available from xbox live if you decline you wont be able to connect to xbox live.. what should i do.i am on the latest dash.
Ok i have just received this update on my retail console, seemed to be a pretty decent sized update however after updating the dash is still 2.0.17148.0, this by rights means it should not affect the RGH Hack/Dash. However, If you choose to update you are doing so at your own risk and personally i would wait till more information is available about this specific update.
I just updated my rgh ( which was on 16767) now is on the 17148 update litterally did it 10 minutes ago i recieved another update but was only the avatar update. ( you can tell if its the avatar update just reboot xbox and when u go to sign in just see if the avatars have faces or not) hope this helped you *ps this is at your own risk iam not reliable
If you have just flashed your nand and got your update, yes that is your avatar update. This is not what we are talking about anon, there is another update being rolled out, my retail and RGH consoles were setup with avatars on 17148, everything working fine, just got another update today and still on 17148, i have only updated my retail and would try my RGH but have no KV, please do not try the update unless you have hardware tools to reflash if anything goes wrong.
i just updated my dash today and had to unban my console,.could this be why i am getting the message to update live
No, if your avatars are setup already it will be the new update, the one i am talking about in previous posts, being banned will not force you to install the avatar update again, should be a case of replacing KV and rebooting, then should be on live again.
should be fine to update then, however, there may be an update incoming similar to the one i have just received here in australia, remember Australia got the 17148 update almost half a day before the rest of the world
