[SIZE=12pt]Watch Dogs by Ubisoft is possibly one of the most hyped up releases of 2014. It’s a third person open world action-adventure game at while the genre of the game might sound generic, the game is definitely something to behold by what we’ve seen so far. Perhaps the main thing that separates Watch Dogs from other games of its genre is the extremely in-depth incorporation of hacking in the game.[/SIZE] [SIZE=12pt]Set in the city of Chicago, the game follows the story of the protagonist Aiden Pierce who basically has the potential to do what he wants, when he wants thanks to his smartphone that can hack anything in the city’s infrastructure. You can even unlock any car you want on demand with your skills but how you utilize them is completely up to you, you could be a super hero to help out the people of Chicago with your skill-set or you could just use your abilities for self benefit by taking from the rich people of Chicago, the choice is completely yours.[/SIZE] [SIZE=12pt]Watch Dogs also has a feature similar to the “Notoriety” aspect in Assassin’s Creed but in this game it’s known as your reputation. Basically when you do bad stuff you’re going to get your face on the news with a huge “WANTED” label on the side but if you’re having a positive influence on Chicago then you’ll be much more liked by the people and it will also influence whether or not other NPCs choose to help you. You can also fast forward the time by sleeping at your hideout which is similar to the resting feature we saw in Skyrim. [/SIZE] [SIZE=12pt]Watch Dogs will also feature skill trees and item crafting similar to what we saw in Ubisoft’s own Far Cry series. You’ll be able to unlock specific skills depending on your needs with skill points and as for crafting you’ll be able to make things like grenades, IEDs etc.[/SIZE] [SIZE=12pt]To add a sense of social life to the game, Watch Dogs will have its own online social network where you’ll be able to see Pierce connect with some of his close friends.[/SIZE] [SIZE=12pt]As for the online elements, the game will allow online multiplayer free roam but the drawback is that it will only be for the Xbox One and the Playstation 4 with PC not being confirmed yet so the owners of the previous generation of consoles won’t be experience this but they will be able to experience the second multiplayer element of the game which is the ability to hack into the world of another player and then try to install a virus onto their phone.[/SIZE] [SIZE=12pt]Perhaps the most unique feature we’ll be seeing from Watch Dogs is the ability to use the ctOS mobile application from your iOS/Android device to infiltrate into the game of another person and then try to capture him as he makes his attempt to free from the Chicago police which you’ll be playing as.[/SIZE] [SIZE=12pt]Watch Dogs is set to release on 27th May 2014 which is just around 10 days from now. It’ll be released for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Xbox One, Playstation 4 and the PC. There will also be a Wii U version of the game but development on that has been halted to complete the console/PC version. The Wii U version of Watch Dogs will be released in the 4th Quarter of 2014.[/SIZE]
How would Ubisoft react to someone hacking a game about hacking? Oh the irony! Still, that said it does look very good.
Hopefully they have put some easter eggs in the game files like they did with the latest Assassins creed for those that like to mod the game to find
