Tucked away in the latest Assassin’s Creed rumours is a tasty little tidbit about the next Watch Dogs game.According to a Kotaku source, Watch Dogs 2 will release this year and be set in San Francisco. The outlet was able to provide no more information than that. The news comes as rumours begin to swirl that Assassin’s Creed will skip this year, returning in 2017 with an Egypt-set game currently codenamed Empire. Kotaku and its source believes that Watch Dogs 2 could plug the gap.“A possible Ubisoft substitution for this fall’s big Assassin’s Creed could be Watch Dogs 2, which we hear will be out later this year and set in San Francisco,” said the site. The original Watch Dogs launched in 2014. Broadly similar to Assassin’s Creed, the game is a third-person, open-world action game with stealth elements. The twist is a modern day setting and the protagonist’s ability to hack into various systems, allowing him to mess with both the game’s NPCs and the city in which they live.“Watch Dogs does a lot of things incredibly well, laying the foundation for a franchise with the potential to be an Assassin’s Creed beater,
