Short Description: Dying Light: The Following is Big, But Techland Has “Even Bigger Plans” For a Sequel

During Gamescom, we had the opportunity to play Dying Light's upcoming DLC expansion, The Following, which takes players to a rural outback environment that's even bigger than the core game's Slums and Old Town combined.

We asked Dying Light's Lead Game Designer Maciej Binkowski whether at any time Techland considered turning The Following into a fully-fledged sequel given its size. The answer was no, as the Polish developer have “even bigger plans” for a Dying Light follow-up.

“I don't think so,” said Binkowski when asked about considering turning The Following into a sequel. “It's a really big expansion and we really hope people are going to enjoy it because, we're trying to put as much value into it as possible, but we have even bigger plans for a sequel.

“And that's all I can say,” he added. “I mean it's a no-brainer. Dying Light was successful so it's a no-brainer that we should do a sequel, but I need to shut up now!”
