I realize this may sound ridiculous, but bear with me as I explain the basis for this question. I play WoW off of a repack, with IP connection info in the 'realmlists' file modified to connect to 127.0.0.1. This allows me to play an online game offline, locally. Theoretical question: could an RGH/JTAG system be modified to do the same, or even connect to a local PC which would behave like an online server, allowing these new 'online-only' games (Destiny, World of Tanks, Titanfall) to be fooled into believing there is a server? I apologize if this is a duplicate post, or has already been discussed. Did a simple search of 'spoofing', and the closest result was a mention of spoofing an online connection for Titanfall.
That would be correct. In the respect of Destiny most of the game stuff (characters, maps etc.) are on a server the way I understand it.
I overlooked that. Good one In the case of WoW repacks, those files can be captured from the stream between client and server. I'm guessing that couldn't be so easily done with any of these games (which would explain why it's never been done yet :dj: ) Ah well, was worth asking about. Thanks for the responses!
