Remasters ‘Feel Like You’ve Run Out of Ideas’, Says EA COO Peter Moore

    Remasters! Everyone’s at it. Sony loves ‘em, Microsoft isn’t afraid of ‘em, Capcom and Square Enix can’t get enough and stores everywhere are swamped with sexed-up previous-gen games.​
    But it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing any from EA.​
    Speaking to IGN, EA COO Peter Moore said he’s not a fan of remasters, explaining that he thinks they feel “like pushing stuff out because you've run out of ideas."​
    "For a lot of companies, remakes are a way to drive revenue,” he added. “It's sub-cost, it's an IP that's there, you can remaster, and that's great. We don't do that here. I don't think that’s ever been in our culture."​
    So that’s that. It’s very likely we won’t be seeing any remakes from EA in the near future. No Mass Effect Trilogy. No Dead Space remake. A no chance of The Simpsons Skateboarding: Anniversary Edition.​
    It’s a sad day.​
