I am really hoping this is in the correct place for one, but I know there is a complete guide to destiny here but what I wanted to do was do it from a player-to-player point of view. I am going to try my best to help out as much as I can and put as much details as possible and make this "noob" friendly as well. If I get anything wrong please let me know and I will fix what needs to be fix. Alright lets get into it. Of course its all about your style of game play and personal play. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and this is mine. What I wanna try and accomplish here is to help people out of what class, equipment, and to start out as. Of course every player will have their own point of view of what is good and what is not, what is proper and what is not etc. But again I want to put it in a player-player point of view. First I will post my thoughts of the Titan since this is my main. First let me tell you about the stats in the game. Strength- This decreases your cool down rate for your melee ability Discipline- This decreases your cool down rate for grenades Intellect- This decreases your cool down rate for your Super Light- This will boost your level past 20, increasing the damage done by subclass abilities against higher-level enemies. Your Light can be increased by equipping armor that boosts it. Titan Spoiler We all believe that the Titan is Destiny's version of a tank. A get in and tear it up and get out kind of class. The Titan is an all around class type of class. I believe the tank has potential to be a tank, but in the beginning you should not work towards becoming a tank instead work towards of leveling up you first subclass which is strike (we will get to this in a bit). Of course level 15 you get your second subclass, Defender, which is your defense side (tank). In the beginning, start out with an auto rifle. These will pack a hard punch when you get precision shots or head shots (body shots for the Vex). Unless you like your single shots then go for scout rifle. This will also pack a hard punch and is more accurate then a auto rifle. Lets talk about skills for a bit. Titans have a "Head Charge" subclass and a "Supportive" subclass. Strike and Defender. Titan Skills Spoiler To me this subclass is better than the defender if you are the type of person that likes to charge head on and take care of everything. I am going to copy and paste the skill tree skills and what it containers in the spoiler below. All credits to Destiny Wiki. Skills for Striker Spoiler Grenades Flashbang Grenade: An explosive grenade that disorients the enemies it damages. Pulse Grenade: A grenade that periodically damages enemies inside its explosive radius. Lightning Grenade: A grenade that sticks to any surface, periodically emitting bolts of lightning. Movement Abilities Lift: Jump and press [Jump again] while in the air to activate Lift. Modifiers INCREASED HEIGHT: Upgrades Lift to travel to greater heights. Increased Control: Upgrades Lift for better directional control while in the air. Catapult: Upgrades Lift to provide a strong initial burst of momentum. Super Ability Fist of Havoc: Smash the ground and dissolve nearby enemies in a maelstrom of Arc Light. Modifiers Aftermath: Fist of Havoc leaves a damage-dealing field in its wake. Death from Above: After jumping, Fist of Havoc can be aimed at enemies below. Shockwave: Fist of Havoc unleashes a wave of devastating energy which travels along the ground. Melee Ability Storm Fist: A punishing melee attack that deals BONUS damage. Modifiers Overlord: Hits with Storm Fist have a chance to immediately reset its cooldown. Discharge: Hits with Storm Fist have a chance to deal area of effect damage around. Illuminated: Kills with Storm Fist significantly reduce the cooldown of Fist of Havoc. Class Modifiers Titan Codex I: Training focused on battle recovery and toughness. Titan Codex II: Training focused on speed and toughness. Titan Codex III: Training focused on battle recovery and speed. Ability Modifiers Headstrong: Sprinting increases the leap distance of Fist of Havoc. Aftermath: Increases the duration of the Pulse Grenade, Shock Grenade, and Aftermath. Transfusion: Kills with melee attacks immediately trigger health regeneration. Attribute Modifier Titan Codex IV: Training focused on all attributes. Titan Codex V: Training focused on maximum battle recovery. Titan Codex VI: Training focused on raw speed. Ability Modifier Unstoppable: You are harder to kill while using Fist of Havoc. Shoulder Charge: After sprinting for a short time, unleash a devastating melee attack. Juggernaut: After sprinting for a short time, gain a protective shield. This subclass allows the Titan to "ground pound" the ground which kills pretty much anything in the area. As you go up in this class you will get what I call a "Superman Landing" which allows you to aim down where you want to disintegrate. But, as you can see from these skills this is a again "Head Charger Class" which could of course end up as a tank effort. Now for Defender. Defender This class is the defensive side of a Titan. I am going to copy and paste the skill tree skills and what it containers in the spoiler below. All credits to Destiny Wiki. Skills for Defender Spoiler Grenades Magnetic Grenade: A grenade that attaches to enemies and explodes twice. Spike Grenade: A grenade that attaches to any surface and emits a BAN-ME-PLEASE of damaging void light. Suppressor Grenade: An explosive grenade that prevents enemies from using abilities for a short time. Movement Abilities Lift: Jump and then jump again while in the air to activate Lift. Modifiers INCREASED HEIGHT: Upgrades Lift to travel to greater heights. Increased Control: Upgrades Lift for better directional control while in the air. Catapult: Upgrades Lift to provide a strong initial burst of momentum. Super Ability Ward of Dawn: Shape Void Light into an indestructible shield to protect you and your allies from harm. Modifiers Armor of Light: While inside Ward of Dawn you and your allies gain significant damage resistance. Blessing of Light: Passing through Ward of Dawn grants you and your allies a temporary shield. Weapons of Light: Passing through Ward of Dawn grants you and your allies a temporary increase to weapon damage. Melee Ability Disintegrate: Killing an enemy with this powerful melee attack creates a Force Barrier around you which absorbs incoming damage. Modifiers Warmachine: While Force Barrier is active all your weapons reload and ready blindingly fast. Gift of Light: When the shield created by Disintegrate is active all your skills have a chance to create Orbs of Light. Unbreakable: Force Barrier CONTINUALLY recharges. Class Modifiers Titan Codex I: Training focused on battle recovery and toughness. Titan Codex II: Training focused on speed and toughness. Titan Codex III: Training focused on battle recovery and speed. Ability Modifiers Bastion: Increases the duration of Ward of Dawn. Relentless: Increases the duration and strength of the shield created by Disintegrate. Gift of the Void: As Ward of Dawn takes damage from enemy fire it creates additional Orbs of Light. Attribute Modifier Titan Codex IV: Training focused on all attributes. Titan Codex V: Training focused on maximum battle recovery. Titan Codex VI: Training focused on raw speed. Ability Modifier Untouchable: Reduces the cooldown time of Ward of Dawn. Iron Harvest: Heavy Weapon kills have a chance to create Orbs of Light for your allies. Illuminated: Increases the benefits granted by Blessing of Light and Weapons of Light. Again, as you can see, this subclass is meant for supportive reasons and allows the Titan to put up a defensive shield around him/her and him/her teammates. I personally believe that this subclass is meant to let your teammates to go in and tear crap up and allow them to be defended a little bit better. I have not had a lot of time to really try and upgrade the skills on this, but what I can tell so far is that the more you level this subclass up the more supportive you can be, but the more supportive the less assault you will be as well. What attributes should I go for? Intellect Strength Light (Always go for this that way you can level past 20 and become stronger) Why? Intellect will allow you to use Fist of Havoc or Ward of Dawn more which will allow for more defense and attack. Strength will allow you to use Storm Fist or Disintegrate more often. This will allow for more Hand-to-Hand combat. Light will allow you to go beyond level 20 giving you a better chance of getting stronger and to do more strike missions. Warlock Spoiler I do not have a lot of knowledge on this class but I shall do my best from the little bit of experience I had with it. But to me they are like a Mage in MMORPG's. In the beginning, start out with an auto rifle. These will pack a hard punch when you get precision shots or head shots (body shots for the Vex). Unless you like your single shots then go for scout rifle. This will also pack a hard punch and is more accurate then a auto rifle. Lets go straight into skills on this one shall we. Warlock Skills Spoiler I have heard a lot of good things about this first subclass, but lets see what you think. I am going to copy and paste the skill tree skills and what it containers in the spoiler below. All credits to Destiny Wiki. Class Modifiers Arcane Wisdom: Training focused on battle recovery and speed. Arcane Spirit: Training focused on battle recovery and toughness. Arcane Force: Training focused on toughness and speed. Ability Modifiers Annihilate: Increases the size of the explosion created by Nova Bomb and Vortex grenade. Angry Magic: Nova Bomb tracks enemies. The Hunger: Increases the duration of the Energy Drain effect. Attribute Modifiers Ancestral Order: Training focused on all attributes. Chaos Order: Training focused on speed. Divine Order: Training focused on toughness at all costs. Ability Modifiers Vortex Mastery: Increases the range of Axion Bolt seekers and the duration of the Vortex effect of Nova Bomb and Vortex Grenade. Bloom: Enemies killed with any of your abilities explode. Embrace the Void: Damaging enemies with Nova Bomb or any grenade triggers the Energy Drain effect. " It focuses on the manipulation and use of Void energy to obliterate enemies. It has been described by Bungie as a "glass cannon", offering a strong offense but taking away from defense. The Voidwalker's super ability is Nova Bomb, a ranged attack that lets you "hurl an explosive bolt of Void Light at the enemy, disintegrating those caught within its blast." - Destinypedia This pretty much explains what the void walker is/does. I do know it is a great killing tool in crucibles against a group of guardians. Now for the support side. Sunslinger This class is the supportive side of a Warlock. I am going to copy and paste the skill tree skills and what it containers in the spoiler below. All credits to Destiny Wiki. Skills for Sunslinger Spoiler Grenades Solar Grenade: A grenade that creates a flare of Solar Light which CONTINUALLY damages enemies trapped inside. Brimstone: Killing enemies with Scorch causes them to explode. Class Modifiers Arcane Wisdom: Training focused on battle recovery and speed. Arcane Spirit: Training focused on battle recovery and toughness. Arcane Force: Training focused on toughness and speed. Ability Modifiers Radiant Will: Increases the duration of Radiance. Viking Funeral: Enemies you IGNITE burn longer and take more damage. Sunburst: Killing an enemy with Scorch has a chance to generate Orbs of Light. Attribute Modifiers Ancestral Order: Training focused on all attributes. Chaos Order: Training focused on speed. Divine Order: Training focused on toughness at all costs. Ability Modifiers Touch of Flame: All grenades IGNITE enemies, causing damage over time. Angel of Light: Aiming your weapon while in the air will hold you in place for a short time. Gift of the Sun: Gain an additional grenade. I wish I knew more about the Warlock! But of course this will be updated as I play to more info in about the Warlock. What attributes should I go for? Intellect Discipline Light (Always go for this that way you can level past 20 and become stronger) Why? Intellect will allow you to use Fist of Havoc or Ward of Dawn more which will allow for more defense and attack. Discipline will allow you to use grenades more often to take down larger groups of enemies or just stronger enemies. Light will allow you to go beyond level 20 giving you a better chance of getting stronger and to do more strike missions. Hunter Spoiler I have started a Hunter last night and I am seeming to like it more than my Titan. A Hunter is pretty much a sniper but I have seem to find out you can use it to whatever you need it to be. What I have found out that the Hunter does not really have a defensive side to him/her, but instead a close combat and range combat. In the beginning, start out with an Scout Rifle. These will pack a hard punch when you get precision shots or head shots (body shots for the Vex). But I would go with Auto Rifle on this one and make your secondary a Sniper Rifle. That way you can be short, medium, and long range if you have to be. Skill Time! Hunters have "GunSlinger" which is a Golden gun that pretty much kills everything in one shot but there is a catch...3 shots. Hunter Skills Spoiler I am going to copy and paste the skill tree skills and what it containers in the spoiler below. All credits to Destiny Wiki. Skills for GunSlinger Spoiler Grenade Incendiary Grenade: An explosive grenade that catches enemies on fire, causing additional damage to them. Swarm Grenade: A grenade which detonates on impact, releasing multiple drones that seek nearby enemies. Attribute Modifiers Way of the Drifter: Training focused on all attributes. Way of the Fearless: Training focused on toughness at all costs. Way of the Nomad: Training focused on maximum battle recovery. Additional Modifiers Chain of Woe: Precision kills increase weapon reload speed. Stacks up to 3 times. Over the Horizon: Increases the range of Golden Gun. Gambler's Dagger: Gain an additional Throwing Knife. As you can tell this subclass is pretty much the strong offensive side to the Hunter. I need to explore this skill tree more. Time for my favorite skill! Bladedancer This is the close combat side to the Hunter which is amazing in my eyes. I am going to copy and paste the skill tree skills and what it containers in the spoiler below. All credits to Destiny Wiki. Skills for Bladedancer Spoiler Grenades Flux Grenade: An explosive grenade which deals additional damage when attached to enemies. Skip Grenade: A grenade which splits on impact, creating multiple projectiles which seek enemies. Arcbolt Grenade: A grenade that chains bolts of lightning to nearby enemies. Path Unknown: Training focused on battle recovery and toughness. Ability Modifiers Fleet Footed: Increases maximum sprint speed and extends slide distance. Quick Draw: Weapons are ready immediately after dealing damage with any knife attack. Shadowjack: Increases the duration of invisibility effects. Attribute Modifiers Way of the Drifter: Training focused on all attributes. Way of the Fearless: Training focused on toughness at all costs. Way of the Nomad: Training focused on maximum battle recovery. Ability Modifiers Encore: Killing an enemy with Arc Blade extends its duration. Stalker: Gain invisibility after crouching in place for a short time. Hungering Blade: Kills with Arc Blade and Blink Strike immediately regenerate health. I just have to say that in the beginning the bladedancer sorta sucks, but as usual, as you progress it gets a whole lot meaner! This pretty much allows the player to summon two knives in hand and hack-n'-slash the crap out of everything and everyone, but be careful it does not make you invincible (found this out the hard way). I am more of a kill fast type of guy and the Hunter out does all of that! What attributes should I go for? (this one is sorta hard for the hunter) Intellect Strength Light (Always go for this that way you can level past 20 and become stronger) Why? Intellect will allow you to use Golden Gun or Arc Blade more which will allow for more defense and attack. Strength will allow you to use Throwing Knife or Blink Strike more often. This will allow for more Hand-to-Hand combat. Light will allow you to go beyond level 20 giving you a better chance of getting stronger and to do more strike missions. Credits Spoiler Bungie- For making such a beautiful game Destiny Wiki- For giving the skill trees down so its not so much to type out (And of course) Player- For giving feedback and there opinions on the game and classes Of course this all will be update in due time as I play more and more of Destiny!
