EA and DICE have lifted the lid on another three of Star Wars: Battlefront's modes, adding yet more multiplayer options, alongside the newly revealed Training Missions mode where you'll be able to cut your teeth before diving in online. You'll be able to practice with snowspeeder tow cables and take the game's Heroes and Villains like Darth Vader for a spin. You'll also be able to traverse Beggar's Canyon in an X-wing, shooting TIE fighters out of the sky.Then there's Heroes vs. Villains, in which three players on each team randomly spawn as iconic Star Wars characters such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Boba Fett, clashing in dynamic battles. A 6v6 mode overall, the remaining three players on each team spawn as Rebels or Imperial troopers, with the ultimate goal being to eliminate all of the opposing team's Hero or Villain characters.Finally, Battles mode offers online or offline split-screen 1v1 action for two battling Heroes or Villains with AI troopers or one Rebel trooper fighting one rival Imperial trooper alongside AI allies. You pick up tokens from fallen enemies, and the first to collect 100 points is the winner. The tougher the defeated enemy, the greater the value of the token pick up. Sullust and Hoth will have specially built maps just for this mode.Emperor Palpatine has also been revealed as a new playable Villain, with his trademark Force Lightning, a Force Dash and the ability to hand out power-ups to his Imperial forces. Imperials can also spawn next to Palpatine as more powerful Shock Troopers.Han Solo and Princess Leia have also been added to the roster of Heroes and Villains, with Han predictably a gunslinger-style character with a Shoulder Charge and Rapid Fire ability, as well as Lucky Shot skill that's effective against vehicles. Leia, meanwhile, can use Trooper Bane to quickly dispatch Stormtroopers with a hard-hitting blaster shot, throw up defences with an Enhanced Squad Shield, and drop power ups using her Supply Drop. Star Wars: Battlefront launches for Xbox One, PS4 and PC on 17th November.
