Halo 5: Guardians might not be out for another month or so, but that hasn't prevented Microsoft and 343 Industries from already looking ahead to Halo 6, which according to Halo Franchise Development Director Frank O'Connor is currently at the "serious, real planning" stages. It may sound obvious, but 343 already knows what events will transpire in the next Halo title. "We do kind of know what's going to happen in the next game pretty well at this point," O'Connor revealed to GamesRadar. "We're doing serious, real planning and even some writing on the next game already, and that's a luxury - we've never been in that position before."343 had previously stated that Halo 4 would be the beginning in The Reclaimer Trilogy, but those plans have since expanded into a saga. However, the outcome of that saga might not be set in stone, but the developer ultimately knows what will become of Master Chief in the end."If you start making those stepping stones too rigid, then you're not being realistic about the game development process," O'Connor said of planning beyond Halo 6. "We know what’s going to happen in the next game, and we kind of know what's going to happen to the Master Chief ultimately," he added. One thing is for sure however, and again it's obvious, but Halo is most definitely here to stay. "It's our biggest exclusive franchise," said Xbox boss Phil Spencer. "There's no doubt about that."Halo 5: Guardians launches for Xbox One on 27th October 2015.
