Rockstar has announced that next week will see the arrival of Freemode Events in Grand Theft Auto Online, offering "a new advancement in open world gameplay" with a bunch of integrated games and challenges in Freemode, without menus, lobbies and load times to wade through.Freemode sessions will be open to friends, crewmates, rivals and randoms with "spontaneous and chaotic new games and challenges" appearing. Events can begin at any given moment, at which point players can customise their session and decide which they'd like to take part in.These events include turf wars in King of the Castle; forming an alliance to hunt a volunteer strong, fast beastly character in Hunt the Beast; as well as adversarial modes like Hunting Pack and Cross the Line, with the former riffing on Speed, as a team must deliver a vehicle rigged to explode if it drops below a designated speed, and the latter featuring battles between heavily-armed squads. Stunt challenges also make up the selection of random Freemode events. The Freemode Events Update also adds the Rockstar Editor to Xbox One and PS4 with new features, such as ambient audio and sound effects library, Snapmatic integration, Director Mode updates and other stuff. The GTA Online Freemode Events Update will be coming on 15th September.
