A car skidded off an icy road and smashed into the front of a house in Sheffield and people across Yorkshire and the North East made their way to work in treacherous conditions. The driver had lost control of the red Ford and mounted the curb before ploughing into the front window of the property. Although people were in the house at the time, no one was injured, South Yorkshire police said. The driver also escaped unhurt. Credit:Sky News
