I have an xbox I'm trying to fix it has gone from RROD to E73 to E74 then 2 lights now it has RROD again what should I do to attempt a fix?
Get some liquid flux m8 and put some under the chips get a heat gun and gun both chips allow to cool and then bolt up and you should be sortted 2 red lights means its overheating If you have not got any of them tools i would clean chips again re apply the paste FINGER TIGHTEN the bolts and while out of the case put the rf board on and power up , allow to go from 3 lights to 2 lights and then tighten up bolts and allow to cool down
As splats said x2 red lights is a overheat and can by caused by a break in a solder joint. Do as SPlats said, but make sure that you have the mobo bolted bown to a Jig of some sort as i showed in my tutorial, otherwise and reflows will be in vain as the mobo warps and could possibly make the cold solder worse. Also when you have reflowed the mobo, make sure you do not move or knock it! Leave it to totally cool before reassembly.
