open trey error i tryed clening my laser and all that but when i went to change my laser over i broke the new one haha i when i put a disk in the tray and close it the disc will spin then stop and give me open trey i have even tryed pot tweaking it i know its not my disk tray motherbored if it was it would not open/close or even try i read a disc i think
Yeah, the board sounds like it's fine. The laser may be dead. If you pot tweak you should use a multimeter.
U don't need a miltimeter just turn the left screw counter clockwise a and test. Conitinuw to do this till it reads games
Never do this. You can't be too sure what strength your laser is at to start with. If you don't use a multimeter then you're just guessing and it'll probably result in a dead laser.
You can still 'spoof' but not in the sense that it used to be done, as long as your DVD drive is up-to-date with the latest F/W, you can flash the original key to any drive for that gen (PHAT to PHAT/ SLIM to SLIM etc.) I know this works as I'm still running 2 Xephyrs with Elite standard Lite-Ons running LT3 on Xboxlive
