First off, thank you for taking the time to answer all of the questions here and for making this mod in the first place.

I just wanted you to know that I skimmed through ALL 9 pages of this thread to try and find an answer to what I might be doing wrong before posting this as a "plan Z".

Like many others I am getting ".frt" files when running through the command prompts (should also mention that I'm noticing errors in the command prompt lines saying something about unable to zip but still produces frt files for both game saves.

After running the files through HxD and overwriting the bytes with FFFFFFFF to mod my owner's funds it actually produces a .frt.bak file - "00000054.frt.bak" which I then enter into the command prompt with the packzip command to modify my "CAREER-KEEPER" file.

Finally, I hit a brick wall when attempting to inject the file back onto my flash drive, receiving an "invalid stfs package" error or "Not a valid CON STFS package!"

Hoping you can help me figure out where I'm going wrong here.

    Thanks

    Okay,
Think I managed to figure a few more things out.
I wasn't inserting the file back into the correct spot in Horizon.

Fixed but now I only get 1 of 2 results when I take it back to the Xbox - either it does NOTHING or tells me that the file is damaged.

Also figured out NOT to use the .bak file when splicing it all back together when I realized that the .frt file had been modified.

Still, my biggest concern is when I'm in HxD.
The ONLY difference between my 2 saves should be that I renovated the parking and spent $15M

Yet I get in there and find several changes.

Is there a particular way to tell which is actually the funds that I'm editing?

I even tried looking for a variance that would equal $4.61 and 19.6 in hexadecimal.

Albeit, I'm new at this, but I'm still TRYING to figure it out.

It says unknown file type when I attempt to open the file with the editor. I am using horizon to extract it, and I have already played a game, so I have some XP. At this point i'm so frustrated, I tried this method so many times, to try to get this to work nothing, i dont't know what to do now. Can you help me with this i'll appreciate very much thank's.

It's my first post, but I want to help people who were having the same trouble that I was having; changing Owner Funds. I haven't been able to download the new 1.1.0 version, the link appears dead, so I don't know if this was covered in your tutorial. I'm basically making my own tutorial, as I figured it out, in case others can't download it either. (The main link downloads version 1.0.0.4.0, no tutorial in that package.)

I figured out how to manually find the funds in the .frt files for Owner mode. It's easiest with a new game, but still possible with continued ones (I was 4 games into the regular season, funds in the negative.) Now, from what I've noticed is that these lines are likely the different teams. I'm playing on the Panthers. Unless this is a brand new game, this isn't an instant find, it'll require a small bit of manual searching, estimating, and luck depending where your team's line of code is, compared to mine.

    What you'll need:
    • HxD
    • The .frt or .dat file
    • Windows calculator - set in programming mode. (View -> Programming; View ->Digit Grouping) Make sure Qword is selected.
    • Everything else originally needed for packing, resigning, etc.
I've tested this with new game save files using different teams (Raiders and Colts, 5 million starting cash and 10 million) and it's been pretty reliable. I used a similar method to find the negative funds in my first season, 4 games into the regular season. This'll be in my next post.

First, the easiest to find - Using a brand new game:
    1. With a new game save file, get the .frt/.dat file extracted.
    2. Open it with HxD.
    3. Open Windows Calculator and make sure the settings are what I listed; Click on "Dec", and enter in your starting money value. Don't hit "Enter" or "=". After typing in your money value, click on "Hex". This is your money in Hex. Write is down or keep it handy nearby.
      98 96 80 (10 million dollars)
      4C 4B 40 (5 million dollars)
    4. Do a search for: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 7F FF FF FF ; I believe this is the first entry for some team, I just don't know which one. (My Panters address was 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF).
    5. Next, do a Search with "forward" selected and search for "98 96 80" or "4C 4B 40", whichever was your starting value. Make sure the "datatype" in the search is "Hex-values". Don't use quotes, obviously. If, for some reason, nothing shows up, you'll want to try a backwards search, but I don't think there's any team fund addresses prior to that line in step 4.
    6. It should pop up near a line that looks similar to step 3's.
Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 04 D0 7F FF FF FF 80 98 96 80 (I believe that's the Colt's address I used). I think the "04 D0" portion of the address is the specific team, so that part WILL most likely be different. Where the "80" is, is the beginning of your money. Note, that 80 example is mainly for brand new franchise games. I'll explain,in another section, how to do a search on games in progress.
    7. Where it starts at 80, you replace those with "FF FF FF FF". This will cap your money at 2.15 billion dollars.
      Ex:
      7F FF FF FF 00 00 04 D0 7F FF FF FF 80 98 96 80 - Original
7F FF FF FF 00 00 04 D0 7F FF FF FF FF FF FF FF - NEW
    8. Save your .frt file. You'll notice a ".bak" version, ignore this. This is a backup of your original, unaltered, file.
    9. Use the packzip to merge the new .frt file into your gamesave (do not use the .bak, that's your original money value).
    10. When finished, use Checksumfixer.exe. Select your gamesave and click "Fix".
    11. In Horizon, double click on your game save on your USB, go back into "Contents" tab of your gamesave, right click on the file shown, select "Replace", and select your, now, altered gamesave, from your computer.
    12. When it's done, click on the red tab that says "Save, Rehash, Resign".
    13. Done! Now just test it out, in-game, to make sure you now have $2.15 billion.

My next post will detail how to find it in game saves with games in progress.

This is for games in progress and if you can't make 2 similar game saves (not enough money to upgrade your stadium). Like I mentioned in my previous post, this will require a small amount of time (few minutes) depending on your luck on how well you can estimate your true funds value. If you have two saves to compare, it'll shorten time considerably! You'll only have to look for differences in the section I outline below.

As UnnamedOne mentioned, your funds shown in-game is an estimated/rounded value. I noticed this when my 13.4 million dropped to 3.38 million when I did a $10 million dollar renovation. This is where you're going to need the Windows Calculator - set in programming mode. (View -> Programming; View ->Digit Grouping) Make sure Qword is selected.

    =====================================
First, getting your money value estimates:
Lets say you have 23.8 million dollars. In the calculator, make sure "Dec" is selected. Type in 23800000 , then click "Hex".
    You should get a value of "1 6B 28 C0"

Now you should try to assume that the value is either a little bit above or below that.
    So test out, 23850000 : "1 6B EC 10"
    Then try out, 23750000 : "1 6A 65 70"

So based on these, you notice that 23.8'ish million ranges mainly between the values of "1 6B" and "1 6A". Write these down, if this applies (your real hex codes, not these examples)

If you test this out with money less than $16 million dollars, you'll have values with only 3 sets of digits like "53 EC 60" or "98 96 80". Do the same for estimating the higher and lower values and write down the variable ranges.

If you have NEGATIVE funds: I don't know how to figure it out. I did find out that, by luck, my value started with "7F 9F" because I already knew what my team code was. (I figured it out using an older save with money, upgrading, saving as a new name, and comparing like below). So Negative funds might just start with a "7F"

Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF 7F 9F F8 6D - That was my actual negative value on my unaltered save.

I changed those to FF FF FF FF and I'm back with 2.15 billion. My funds, in-game, was negative $6.29m, using that 7F value. I don't know how to do hex math, so I have no clue how that figures out.
    =====================================

Now for the fun in HxD:
    1. Open your .frt or .dat file.
    2. Do a forward Search for "7F FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 7F FF FF FF" without quotes. As far as I know, this is the first team slot, since you can control up to 32 teams in Offline mode, in a single game save. This showed up in the "004A7210" portion of my regular file, but it can range anywhere before or after that, depending on how much you've played.
    3. This is where your hex money value is important. If you had over 16.8 million, you'll have 4 sets of digits, like "01 6B 28 C0". If you had less than 16.777 million then you'll have 3 sets of digits like "53 EC 60". Get your estimated range that you wrote down.
    4. If the next value is "80" followed by "00", this means this team is blank and has no money. This'll likely only show up in new games, since my recent save shows minor fluctuations.
      Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 7F FF FF FF 80 00

If it has 81, 82, 83, etc. It's likely not your team either. You'll have to search further for an entry that either starts with "01" (if you had more that 16.777 million). If you had less than 16.777 million, it'll start with "80" and will be followed by something OTHER THAN "00". Ex "80 33"

If your first search matches this critera after "FF", you're probably really freakin' lucky. Skip to Step #7
    5. This is the tedious part. You'll want to now search for "7F FF FF FF 00 00". This is to help find your team past this point. The two sets of digits after "00 00" are team codes.
      Ex. "7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF" --> The "0A F0" was for my Panther's team.
    6. Now, you'll want to look past the team code, and past the second set of "7F FF FF FF" after that. If you had 4 sets of digits, for your money code, you're looking for a "01" or higher (02, 05, 0A, 0D, etc.). If you had 3 sets of digits, you're looking for an "80".
I believe, based off my own singular experience, that if you had negative funds, you'll look for a "7F" instead.
Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF 01 xx xx xx x= whatever hex it may be.
      Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF 80 xx xx xx
      Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF 7F xx xx xx
    7. For Four Sets of Digits: If you had 4 sets of digits and you see a "01" or "02" or higher, there's a huge chance that this is your team. Go into the calculator and click Hex. Type in the 4 sets of digits you see starting with "01" "02" whatever. The zero won't show in the calculator. After you type it, click on "Dec". If this is really close to your funds shown, in-game, you've got the right place! Replace the "01 xx xx xx" with "FF FF FF FF". Then save. Go to Step #10, otherwise just go onto the next search result.
      Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF 01 6B EC 10
Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
    8. For Three Sets of Digits: If you had 3 sets of digits, for your money value, you're looking for an entry that ends in "80" followed by anything but "00".
      Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF 80 33

Once you find one, go into the calculator and click on "Hex". Then type in the 3 sets of numbers AFTER "80". If this is close to your funds, you've found your line. If not, move onto the next search result.

      Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF 80 33 9D 23 ; In-game, my save had 3.38 million, it's a match.

Replace the 80 and the 3 following sets with "FF FF FF FF". Save the file. Go to Step #10
Ex: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
    9. For Negative Funds: It's just like the above examples, except you're looking for "7F" at the end of the string, instead of "80" or "01" etc. Replace those last four sets with "FF FF FF FF" Again, I can only speculate this, since I've only had my one game to test this.
      Ex: Negative: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF 7F 9F F8 6D
Ex: Billionaire: 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF FF FF FF FF

      Save your file and continue.
    10. Use the packzip.exe to merge the .frt/.dat into your old game save. Do not use the .bak version, that's your unaltered backup that's automatically created when you saved the file.
    11. Use checksumfixer.exe on your new game save. Click on Fix.
    12. In Horizon, double click on your game save on your USB, go back into "Contents" tab of your gamesave, right click on the file shown, select "Replace", and select your, now, altered gamesave, from your computer.

When it's done, click on the red tab that says "Save, Rehash, Resign".

Done! Now just test it out, in-game, to make sure you now have $2.15 billion.

I hope this helps. It seems a lot longer and harder than it actually is. The hardest part was me figuring all this out last night. I ended up falling asleep and waking up to it, and figuring it out this morning. I haven't bothered with XP since I don't mind earning that along the way. I think that's already taken care of, anyways. And thanks for the awesome tools, UnnamedOne!

Well, I think I've also found out how to edit the stadium upgrades and ratings. However, I only had my personal bajillion game saves to test it on and I don't know if my searches will work on other people's game saves. But, just in case... here it is. I also found out I couldn't just "FF" max the levels and ratings without locking up the Xbox.

It appears that the levels top out at 8, and the happiness ratings at 127, for each section. I doubt that's the intended maximum though. Regardless, I was only able to get the levels to reach 5, any higher attempt (with all of them altered at the same time) either locked up my 360, or cycled the Level back to level 1. The locking happened when I tried to make every section maxed out in levels. They worked when it was just one upgrade maxed out, with the rest normal. I didn't do much more testing on that since I've been at this since my last post, figuring out values, testing multiple saves, and whatnot.

I figure I'll use this to get max enjoyment from the fans until the year ends, then I'll edit it down to crap stats so that I can rebuild the stadium at the end of the year.

These are the values I searched for to find the upgrades. Ignore the blue text, for now. In my file, these were located at 001228E0 - 00122930.

    Bathrooms - 01 A8 00 00 01 80 00 25 F1
    Concession - 01 E8 00 00 01 C0 00 25 31
    Fan Zone - 02 28 00 00 02 00 00 25 B1
    Parking - 02 68 00 00 02 40 00 25 31
    Seating - 02 A8 00 00 02 80 00 25 71
    Team Store - 02 E8 00 00 02 C0 00 25 71

If those actually show up for you, you'll notice they're all right on top of another (alphabetical order, it seems, instead of in-game order).

Now, after the last "00" you'll see another set of numbers, that's the Level of the section. For example, my Parking Lot was Level 2, with 73 Happiness. The numbers after "00" were "08" and "24". The "08" was the level. The "24" was the happiness.
    Ex: 02 68 00 00 02 40 00 08 24

    When upgraded to level 3, it changed to: 02 68 00 00 02 40 00 10 31

For me to get the game to work without crashing, I used "25" for the level. I kept their original hex value that the in-game upgrade initially gave for 99. I didn't want to fiddle with more attempts in case "FF" in the happiness field locked up the game too.
Ex: 02 68 00 00 02 40 00 25 31 ; "31" was the original number the gamesave made when I upgraded the parking lot from Level 2 to 3, in-game. I just changed the "10" (Level 3) it originally gave me to "25" (Level 5). "22" also gives level 5, in case anyone runs into trouble with using that hex, down the line.

The blue text above is what I used to keep the upgrades at level 5 and Happiness at 99. Since I haven't played enough of the game, I don't know if the levels go higher than 5, normally. And, like I mentioned, I don't even know if these value searches will work on anyone else's saves, since all the previous game save links in this thread all seem dead. I only tried it on my various Panther's saves, using different points of progress in the career (week 3 and week 7).

Btw, I completely found out about this by accident when I was trying to find my funds for the very first time. When I altered the first discrepancy that I found, I noticed it didn't change my money. So I went into the Stadium screen to see if the funds said anything different there. That's when I noticed a Level 8 parking lot with 127 happiness. After I figured out how to change my funds, and posted the first two post up above, I went back to figure out the rest of the stadium upgrades. =P

Checksum Fixer tells me "Unknown File Type!" when I am trying to complete step 12. Thoughts? New to all this but seem to be good until that point.

I have a question for all of you where do you get the .frt or .dat file for this at I extracted the file using Horizon from my Madden 25 game for owner mode and when I go into HXD I look for things from my windows calculator and the 7F things and can not find them to edit and change in my file. Please let me know where to find this at and what files I need to copy from my hdd to get this to work. Thanks a lot!

What are you searching for? I was able to get a hold of someone else's game save so I've been able to narrow down where each thing is generally located (team funds, different teams' stadium upgrades.) I ended up finding that each team has their own section for stadium upgrades since you can have 32 teams/stadiums on a single save game. The big thing, for a search, is to make sure that you're using "Hex-values" for the datatype, in the drop down menu. If it's doing a "text-string" search, you won't find anything.

Yes I am using hex values, it will let me find 7F, or FF, but when I search for 7F FF FF FF 00 00 0A F0 7F FF FF FF 7F 9F F8 6D, it cant find it.
