Update: Sony is working with Ubisoft and retail partners to manage official bundle changes Ubisoft has delayed all versions of Watch Dogs until some time around Spring 2014, representing a delay of at least four months and meaning the game will miss its Christmas release opportunity. In an official statement, the France based company affirmed its commitment to quality and said the delay was necessary to ensure that Watch Dogs meets the ambition of its developers. "Our ambition from the start with Watch Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming," it said, "it is with this in mind that we've made the tough decision to delay the release until Spring 2014." "We know a lot of you are probably wondering 'why now?' We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. "As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience." Speaking in a conference call addressing its revised line-up, Ubisoft CFO Alain Martinez said Watch Dogs has the potential to exceed sales of Assassin's Creed 1, which sold 6.2 million units in total, and that it does not believe the delay beyond Christmas will affect this. Ubisoft's ambitious open-world action game is a key title in the launch line-ups for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Watch Dogs was to be included in one of the official PS4 bundles in the UK. It is not clear what the ramifications of the delay are on these official bundles. In a statement made to CVG a Sony representative said: "Obviously this is very recent announcement, but we will be working very closely both with Ubisoft and with our partners at retail to manage this situation."
