Someone help me with my flashed xbox please.

I need some help/advice, i recently got a flashed xbox from XPGHAX and im having numerous troubles with it

• Cant run games for longer that 5 minutes without recieving "Disk is unreadable" error unless i install the game
• When trying to install/play some games i get an error saying the disk is too scratched even when the disk is mint not a mark on it, and if the game wont install i cant play it.
• I get the "Disk is unreadable" error when its reading the game i put in the drive like 90% of the time

Any ideas on what i can do to sort or even help this issue. thanks.

 

its not the xbox, sounds like its the discs mate

 

what discs are you using to burn with, if there cheap then that can cause problems also try de dusting the dvd drive

 

Disks were burnt by hax, i even burnt 2 my self, they passed in ABGX everything burned fine, doubt its the disks.

 

DVD+R DL 8.5gb Verbs, top notch.

 

what burner are you using? do you have the burnermax firmware? sounds strange, have you contacted hax?

 

i got a ihas drive with the burnermax, im pretty sure its on the console side the issue.

 

Well the flash is not bad if it IS reading games. It sounds like the disc drive needs a pot tweak. Very common for modified drives. Heck even for stock drives.

If a pot tweak fails, probably need a new laser.

 

What is a "Pot tweak"

 

It's where you slowly increase/decrease the laser voltage by rotating the laser's knob (Ha ha, yeah *insert mega floppy dangler joke here*) in order to
fix your dvd drive's reading or even for the sake of better reading times. A video by Alex below shows exactly how to perform this procedure.

im guessing i need a new laser, but i wouldnt know how to install it, any tuts out there?

 

It's actually quite simple, just a case of screwing it into place

I would recommend giving a pot tweak a try first.

I'm sure someone near you has one A friend, grandparent or any other family member? If not you can pick up one cheap from ebay.

 

sadly not, kinda stuck here, i know nothing about taking consoles apart ect.. was hoping it would be fine upon receiving it

 

Then I suggest taking it up with HAX or you can send it to me (Based in Scotland) and I can fix it up for you.

There are lots of tutorials too on youtube you can look at for taking the console apart and that way you can do it yourself.
