Xbox One and PS4 Pros and Cons

Just a heads up i am in no way bias and have already pre ordered both Consoles for Day one launch through GAME


PS4

PROS
Great platform for indie devs
PS+ service offering free games
High spec hardware including ddr5 memory
Cloud
Great Launch Price
Digital downloads allow you to play instantly while the game downloads in the background

CONS
PS+ NOW MANDATORY for online gaming
No 3rd party exclusives
Horrible communications features - No Skype/Party Systems
No Twitch TV support
Lack of any good exclusive games
Awful controller layout
PSN always breaks


XBOX ONE

PROS
Amazing game line up with tons of 3rd party exclusives and DLC exclusivity
Great chat services such as SKYPE/Part chat
Xbox live gold is as reliable as always
Free games for gold members
Great tv features
Awesome voice control features - (XBOX might finally buy me a drink)
Kingdom Hears is finally on a M$ console as is FF XV
Cloud

CONS
Used game DRM
24 hrs connection to live required
Higher launch price
ddr3 memory as opposed to sony's ddr5 memory
High Launch Price - Damn kinect driving up the price

 

Also both console look ugly as hell, if you think i missed any pros or cons on either platform let me know and i will update accordingly

i am a huge Xbox fan but you gotta be kidding when you're saying ps4 doesn't have great exclusive games? Guess you didn't hear about Drive club, infamous: second son, killzone: shadow fall, the order:1886?

I said no 3rd part exclusives and i thought these games were not made by 3rd party. also i think killzone looks pretty lame.

ps4 still better in terms of price specs and drm but i think xbox has better games line up hands down

you can play used game on xbox one, its just they aren't drm free so there will be a fee to play them, first thing in the list of cons above

PS4 for me.

I'm not getting DRM box one. With mandatory kinect that you can't disconnect and is always on and listening.... NSA anyone?

 

Don't no why you have put FF XV and kindom of hearts as a PRO for xbox as its on PS4 as well

Also I think another PRO for PS4 would be its cheaper then the xbox so that would be a con for that also


And another PRO for the PS4 is if you download a game digitally you don't have to wait for it to download you can play it straight away and let it download in the background

 

Updated list, the reason i put those games as a pro is Kingdom Hearts has never been on a Microsoft console and until E3 everyone thought that both that and FF XV would be exclusive to sony


I also have a major soft spot for Kingdom Hearts

 

ps4 for me alot of people struggling for decent speeds atm and there gonna sufer cos of microsoft

 

See i always connect to xbox live on my retail xbox360 and i never buy pre owned, i do rent games however so to me there isn't much of an issue but i understand why people would go with ps4 especially at that price

I think these 2 things are a matter of opinion.

They both look nice, but i'll stick with my first choice "PS4" since when I usually go with my second choice I get screwed in the end.

 

High retail price is a PRO for the Xbox One? :wtf: I also am going to get a PS4. I live for used games and I have a lot of friends that already play PS4. I might get and Xbox ONE sooner or later, most likely later, but for now I'm gonna get the PS4. I also agree with the shitty controller layout, so they had better release an Xbox controller adapter pretty damn soon after release. Also, PlayStation controllers are rechargeable and Xbox controllers aren't. You might want to add that to the list.
