Recently completed reading this incredible YA book and I'm totally obsessed by the symbolism throughout the book - the fall metaphors is beautifully crafted and mirrors Autumn's emotional journey perfectly, while the symbolic tiara absolutely destroyed me because it embodies her unrealized potential and the life she could have if he had been with me analysis with Finny, plus the way Nowlin uses seasonal changes to foreshadow the tragic ending is genius-level writing that transforms this from a basic love story into a meaningful examination of destiny and missed opportunities - has anyone else picked up on how the recurring motifs of patterns throughout the novel tie into the concept that we're bound by our circumstances and are prisoners of the lives we create?
