Hello XPG Members. I RJTB am currently Developing a Browser that is both fast and reliable. The browser will include features such as Favorites,Book Marks,History,Customization, and much more. The reason i am posting this message is because i would like some beta testers. Before i fully release the browser i first want to make sure that everything on the browser works properly. What better start than getting some helpers/Beta Testers to make this a reality. The Browser will be released to the public via XPG Forums. All early access members will receive credit for beta testing the browser. The browser is fast and light weight. Kind of like Google chrome and Firefox but 100% coded by me. All the work done on this browser will be made by me. It will also include a copyright and a patent. Current Stage: Pre-Release [No Beta at the moment] Next Stage: Beta Pre Finally Stage: Debug Final Stage: Release Current Beta Testers: - - - - - Current Developers - RJTB - Apply for BetaForm: Username: Number of Posts: Number of Rep: Position of XPG: Apply for Developer The developer will debug and fix bugs on the script it self. He also will provide updates and add features on upcoming updates that will later fix bugs and add new features to the browser. The Developer application is currently under discussion and will be released once the Browser has reached its Beta Stage. The only reason why I ask is because you haven't shown anyone on this forum you know anything about coding, and if coding a browser was easy, everyone would be making their own custom browsers. The last thing I want to see is a fully released "XPG Browser" that is a full on rip-off of someone else's work. I am not doubting your skills, but it doesn't hurt anyone here for you to show a bit of the coding or even a screenshot of it in development. Beta or not. Edit. Seeing that it is being made in Visual Basic, this wouldn't be it's own independent browser, I am going to assume you're using WebControl which by default is really just an embedded Internet Explorer, all you would be doing is re-skinning it. Not too mention, plug-ins such as flash and such, wouldn't work, as their installer is set to a specific browser, and all you're really doing with this is, customizing the skin, and then throwing an iframe into it.
BTW all you have been doing to all my posts is posting negatively. I have not done anything to you so that you can be showing such rude behavior towards me as i have not done anything wrong. Yes i know how to code i am currently going to school for it. Yes i do GFX For fun. And no i do not rip other people's work as i am not a leecher i work hard for my stuff and i do my best to try to release new projects that i have wasted sweat and tears over. Approved i will PM you the First Download when its ready.
I am not being rude in anyway, I am simply telling you, this project won't be working the way you think it will.
I see you're point. If you want i will send you the code in a PM so you can see my work. At the Moment i am currently finishing a couple of codding for the Beta Release. If you want to test it be my guest. I have nothing against that. But i am offended by the way you post on my posts. You try to make me look bad and that is something that i take personal. On my other post you quoted all my reply's and said "they give grammar Nazi to everyone now a days". And now on this post you post that my browser will not turn out as i think it will. That offends me a lot to be honest. The reason i joined the website is to be able to talk to friendly people that like the same things that i do. Not for people to tell me that i will fail at what i do.
Please send me the code so I can view it, I assume you're doing it in Visual Basic. I am in no way rude to people on these forums, I know quite a bit when it comes to things like that, and I am just telling you. I am not trying to make you look bad in anyway, I am just sharing my knowledge with you, so you don't end up wasting time.
Now that you put it that way i appreciate it. That way i can understand were you're coming from. And your knowledge is very well appreciated. The code will be ready by tomorrow as i have to go to bed. I have morning class tomorrow and have an important exam. I will be PM you the Codding when i get home.
Not everyone will be the nice person you want them to be. Simply he is telling you straight forward and getting his point across. I do agree with him on some instances but, none-the-less let's not turn this topic into un-needed flaming war. Simply start up a PM with each other and carry on there. If any issues is to occur, then feel free to PM me.
Sounds good but ify bud if you can show higher up staff some of this I'm sure they will love your idea. Not doubting anything seen members come along and do great for this community. Hope you do the same good luck with your project bud.
Update 1/26/15 -Browser is now currently is stage of Testing. -Browser is running and has some bugs that are being fixed -Added New Instances -Beginning to add Tabs
