Sorry if this is a noob question but I'll ask anyway:

Whats the importance of resigning/rehashing the game save oppose to simply injecting the file and assigning it to the gamertag?

I've always used the latter will I be more susceptible to a possible ban in the future?

I believe it helps preventing the save from corrupting.
    I could be wrong though.

if your injecting it with horizon and picking the profile that's just and auto rehash and resign, but if you don't rehash or resign the game won't load the save with your profile, you would need the original profile to load it

Hashing is a form of data encryption and signing is a form of verification. When you rehash and resign you encrypt the data and sign it as if it were the same as the original data.
