Error message

cant find anything abut the error code - 4099-40A3-1680-2446-C810-1003 no answer on M$ website, i think it is a hard drive error if you know please tell me

are you 100% that the drive is the original and has not been spoofed to another .

 

i would prob say take the drive out and then update the dash and see if that works if that works then it could be because of your drive being flashed and isnt updated. if it still has that problem then could be the hdd if you try maybe a usb and take hdd out and see if works and if it does its the hdd. but. those are what i could think of that would cause the issue

 

you cannot update a 360 with no drive inside only thing he can do is flash it back to stock then update it then flash it again to LT.30 and try also updating without a hdd as youre 360 may have some internal memory .

but like ihvae already stated an incorrect drive type will also not allow a dash update .

 

lol i think you can update using a flash drive..... i done it many times so u cant say u cant update without a hard drive u need at least a 8gb usb stick... lol and yes your correct if he does go with the dvd drive by reflashing basically but its pointless in my oppinion i would of bought a jtag instead lol
