Hello lads, Basically long story short, you may remember me posting a few months back about how to reflow a Xbox, well i listened to everyone who replied and followed the instructions that were given to me, it worked! but only for a few months and i know that reflowing doesnt last forever but i'm starting to get sick and tired of reflowing.... and i know Bullet does xbox repairs so i might have to hit him up, do i need a reball my xbox or do a x-clamp replacement, i dont know? i just need a fix that will last me atleast a few months when i have enough money to buy a brand new xbox. So please reply if you know the most appropiate fix, i dont mind sending off to someone on xpg who is trusted, or just a simple post on how to fix my xbox. How it happens, i would play for an hour or two then the picture would suddenly go all static on me and make a really loud staticy sound lol. and when i turn the xbox off and turn it back on i get the RROD and a secondary error code of 0102. Sorry that my description may not be very detailed, if you need more description on my dilemma i will add to it more tomorrow if needed (as i am very tired ) Sorry for the inconveniance caused. Yours, MagicM
0102 is cold solder joint a good reflow/reball should do it,contact splats/addz or bullet and im sure they will help you out mate as they each provide an awesome service
0102 is inded a cold solder as Hax already stated. You could get it reballed but its not cheasp and you can pick up another Xbox for the price of a reball. If you want a cheaper solution, then strip down the box, remove the heatsinks and any old heatpaste and reflow " properly on a jig", also use a BGA flux... then repaste and fit a clamp replacement or the original clamps back. Dont properly it should last for time...
Looks Like A Re-flow Tbh, Follow B's Tut About The Jig And Stuff, Can't Fault It, It's Helped Me Quite Alot
Warm the board using your pre heater for roughly a few minutes. You are looking for a mobo temp of around 120c. Then you want to be set at 90-100C from your nozzle for about a minute then follow this guide: step up 2C per second to 190C & wait 1 min ( The reflow point is 217C. ) step up 2C per second to 250C & wait 45 sec step up 2C per second to 300C and turn of the preheater & wait 30 seconds step up 2C per second to 350C & wait 30 seconds When cooling the mobo drop at 3-6C per second.
