Dead Rising - Off the record mods possible?

    Hi

    I don't have the tools to look through the latest DR2-off the record game, but the last datafile.big from DR2 was moddable, wondered if TeamXPG had any thoughts on looking into modding this game?

    Thats exactly what im waiting for, was looking into the xex mod last night but i would not know where to start with that, compared the dead rising original xex against the modded one but so much has changed from the start would not know.
    i might take a look at the datafile tho see what we can come up with

    dont think it can be done with this version check the attached items.txt file from the datafile.big

    all the files are encrypted like that, i think our only hope is the xex mods

    That can decrypted using something called quickbms, but the current tools will not repack the datafile.big for xbox version for some reason. I'm sure if you went thru and did this to all files in datafile it could work.


    But other note, not sure if any of saw my thread how to mod this game, pretty simple just get the datafile.big for PC version and start modding away. They said over at dead rising modding site it would not work and I proved them wrong.

    I tried to do the models mod but it failed, xbox would freeze when trying to use pc version.


    This method may work with XBLA versions of the game, have not had chance to give it a go yet.

    Any chance on getting a different link for the trainer since multi upload and megaupload are down now?
