    Okay, I have burned myself a copy of World at War, that I modded myself. Prior to me deciding to iso mod, I did have the original installed, but I deleted it.

    I can play the game from the disk, by hotswapping.. And when I click install to HDD, my cd drive makes like a confused sound from moving. Then it speeds up the disk like it's going to work, then it slows down to about half speed, then back to normal speed and gives me the error, "Can't read this disk. It may be scratched or dirty. Clean it and try again".. It has made it to 1% ONCE!

    However, when I try to hotswap from the modded to the original game, it will install.
    I swap the two disks in like 2 seconds or less, so I don't see that being the problem.

    My 360 is an Elite, and I have had it for like 2 years.
    The drive specs are as follows:

    * Philips & Lite-on Digital
    * Manufactured in May, 2008
    * Model Number: DG-16D2S

    It is NOT flashed.
    My 360 is NOT banned.
    I HAVE cleared my cache several times.
    I have tried it with 3 different copies, all burnt at 2.0x, but clearly the disk is okay, because I can play modded zombies off of the disk.

    I don't know what else to do, please help

    Any further questions, just ask.

    thats where your going wrong you have to have it flashed for copies or "backups" to work

    you still need it flashed for the drive to recognise the disc

    installing to your HDD just stops the disc from spinning it stills need the disc for it to load up and verify you have the game

    The drive doesn't need to be flashed to read a copied game whilst doing the hotswap method l use it all the time.
    Its properly just a bad burn verify it against the iso image you burned it from or verify the disk \ iso with abgx all stealth and video should pass and data should fail if you have modded correctly

    sounds like a bad burn especially if it wont even reach 1percent as i hotswapped an install of my modded world at war on my fresh console after a ban as soon as the original gets to 1percent installed thats when you should be hotswapping with your modded disc and if it gets to 1percent then after swapping with the modded copy it then says unable to read the disc it may need cleaning well its defenitly a bad iso burn
    and as im sure you allready know but i`ll say it anyway
    if you do get it installed just remember 2 insert the original when playing as the security certificate will be read from the original disc but the game settings will be read from the installed modded hard drive version
    but as i said you prob allready knew that anyway lol

    hope you manage to get your issue sorted

    Peace
