Next Gears of War To Have Playable Female Character? Cliff Bleszinski drops a few hints. by Jim Reilly August 3, 2009 - Will gamers finally be able to play as a female in the Gears of War series? That's the question Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinski was asked by 1 vs. 100 Live host Chris Cashman during a game this past Saturday, according to Binge Gamer. Bleszinski danced around the question and said he couldn't comment on "'possible aspects' of a game that 'may or may not' be in development." He then followed up on his comment by saying the female character sitting on top of a dead Brumak from the comic series "'may or may not' be involved in any 'as-yet-unannounced' video game projects." To further add to the speculation, the director on the upcoming Gears of War movie, Len Wiseman, said at Comic Con he wants female characters in the movie. "I'd love to see it happen. Epic put four to five year wait on next instalment. by Martin Robinson September 25, 2009 - The wait for Gears of War 3 could be longer than expected, with Epic Games President Mike Capps saying it will be released on the next generation of consoles – meaning that it could be between four to five years until we see Marcus Fenix and company again. Capps was addressing an audience at this week's Tokyo Game Show in a Q&A session – attended by Eurogamer - that announced the foundation of a Japanese studio for the US developer. Regarding the future of Epic's revered console series, Capp said "If there were a next Gears of War, that will be for the next console generation, whenever that is. If someone knows, please tell me! That's about four or five years away, I think." He also revealed that the company has been working on Unreal Engine 4, the successor to the omnipresent Unreal Engine 3, for seven years, and that it would be fully compliant with the next generation of consoles. Gears of War 2 was one of last year's biggest games, awarded a gushing 9.5 in our review. Given the two year gap between the first and second games, many had hoped the third instalment would come sooner. Epic's Cliff Bleszinzki has already hinted that Gears of War 3 may include RPG elements, and we've compiled our own wishlist of what we'd like to see in the game. UPDATE: Epic's Michael Capps has since clarified his comments, and was less certain whether the next Gears of War would be for the current generation or not. "If we ship a game in the next few years, it'll be Unreal Engine 3," he said, "If we ship a game on next [generation] consoles, it will likely be Unreal Engine 4." Mark Rein, vice president of Epic, offered further clarification in an e-mail to IGN that stated, "That's a gross misinterpretation of what he [Michael Capps] actually said."
I think she'd be a welcome addition. Tai was a clown and so was Dizzy. They were such generic characters. Then again, GoW2 wasn't all that great.
its been announced at e3 2010 there willbe female charictors anya the radio person will be fighting with you and another girl aswell there bringing out a new wepon that was from the pendulom wars its the lancerbut with a rusty bayonet and the berserka is back and its lambent theres a new enemy witch goes underground and attacks you they have replaced the troik with a new turret where basicly you place your guns in it and you use your ammo but n recoil at all and a 1 shot sniper where basicly you shoot em and they vaporise thats all i can remember tho so ill update when i hear more info
