Help! XBox frezzes while playing dual screen, and I lose everything.....

Hi,

My XBox keeps frezzing while I play split screen. I lose everything I mean everything. just lost a level 50 build a couple of minutes ago.
This XBox has been fine up until now. (it's a FAT 360 Elite with a 250 Gig HHD) not the one that crashed.
Please add your thoughts on this, Should I buy a 360 slim????

So far it has happened three times today (since 3 am) each time I lose everything I have done up to then and I just lost everything on my 50 level Axton. he went back to level one at the start of the game.

 

maybe do to the age and usage of the console somethings failing cpu or gpu wise ..

Thanks. I was hoping it would last until the 720 came out but I will look for a good used 360 slim. it's a Jasper chip Elite that was hardy used until Borderlands 2 came out.

 

How old is the elite? I bought my elite a few years back with a 250 GB hard drive and it crashed for me constantly whenever I tried to play certain games (such as Madden). I downgraded to a 20 GB hard drive and it worked perfectly fine after that. I guess it just can't handle the memory. If I were you, I would try to borrow a friend's hard drive (a small one mind you) and see if it crashes when you play it split screen. If it doesn't then simply trade in your hard-drive for a smaller one. If it does crash then it maybe your xbox.
