Xbox 360 will finally get an upgrade this year! Earlier this week, “Major Nelson” otherwise known as Larry Hryb, Xbox’s director of programming, posted a countdown clock to the event on his blog, hinting at a major announcement coming at E3 in June. E3 is the year’s largest video game conference and it’s widely expected that the new Xbox 720 release date will coincide with E3 this year in June. Microsoft has yet to officially confirm the likes of Xbox 720 or the Xbox 720 release date, but some folks are already making predictions. In a report on tech speculation and rumor site SemiAccurate, the Xbox 720 – which has allegedly been codenamed Kryptos internally – has test chips that are currently in development. Both SemiAccurate and Bloomberg say Microsoft is shooting hard to release Xbox 720 in September 2013. Which is slightly later than the June Xbobx 720 release date, but that could be when the Xbox 720 hits shelves. Either way, you can almost guarantee that the Xbox 720 will be in stores for the next lucrative holiday season. Here’s some more info on Xbox 720 from a report in NDTV Gadgets. In June last year, a leaked Xbox presentation spanning 56 pages revealed some interesting details regarding the Xbox 720. The console might include Blu-Ray support, be capable of playing 1080p HD movies, 3D viewing and an ‘always on’ state mode for faster start up speeds. Power is expected to be beefed up 6 times compared to the current Xbox. Processor wise, Microsoft is currently debating between two options – use six or eight ARM cores or x86 cores clocked at 2GHz each with 4GB RAM. These would be put alongside 3 PPC cores clocked at 3.2GHz each to enable backwards compatibility with current Xbox 360 titles. Earlier speculations have also hinted at a quad-core Intel processor. We do know that Xbox’s major competitor, Sony Playstation, is also planning a new game console in 2013, the PS4. It’s been over six years since we’ve seen any new gaming consoles from these companies so it is certainly about time! with these photo's i think there prototypes i'm not sure yet Source:http://bostinno.com/...14_271816_7__ss
