hi ive been modding pc games for some years now but i have finally got a rgh xbox and want to iso mod some games. i am trying to do some model swap to start with in resident evil 5 like swapping the wesker model with the chris model but everytime it about to start a chapter it crashes does anyone have any thoughts on what the problem is. do i run it though abgx with it been a modded iso? do i put it on disc or convert it to god? what are the proper tools to use ive been using wx360? i know this mod has already been done im just doing myself to get used to the methods of iso modding thanks you any help will be appreciated
Firstly run the iso in abgx. Second Get image browser and replace the iso with the mod files. 3rd put in a duel layer disc and then select the dvd file the smaller file . 4th burn it and then put it in ur box or hot swap it etc.. Hope this has helped. if your doing it on you rgh put reaplce the mod files in image browser then extract the iso in the program to your desktop (Make the game folder) Then either transfer to your rgh via FTP (File transfer Protocol) Or Usb then give them a test.
also if its a moded iso before you swap the files extract the default xex first then replace files then overwrite the default with the one you extracted first otherwise youl corrupt the default xex m8
you might want to use xboxbackup creator aswell instead of wx 360 as the image browser on xbc works for xgd3s aswell and prob works much better than wx360 but yeah like i said before id do this use xbc and open it go to image tools then image browser open iso then first thing to do is extract a copy of the default xex then replace files with moded ones then replace the default xex with the one you extracted first otherwise youl corrupt the default xex i really hope this helps m8 it could be the reason its crashing aswell m8 hope you get it figured out
cheers pistolpete i didnt extract the default xex so i probs have corrupted the game ill re-rip and try it later cheers again
right heres what i did and it failed 1 ran it through abgx 2 opened it in xbox backup creator and clicked image tools/image browser 3 extracted the all files and folders (backed up xex) 4 extracted weskercos2 model 5 overwrote chriscos2 file with wesker file 6 overwrote xex with backed up xex 7 converted to GoD and ftp to xbox and it crashed on loading a chapter 7 ftp over to xbox any thoughts kind regards t3 Edit :checked the image again and now alot of the files are missing Edit 2 : extacted files from a disc rip and games now boots without mods
Right i did all the steps in the above post and the game boots fine without any changes to it, but when i overwrite a file and boot the game it crashes when i load a chapter with the overwritten costume. once i replace the files back to stock the game works again any thought please scrapped project
