So, I just got my new lappy and it came with Windows 8. Since I live in Japan, I need a VPN to watch Netflix. I set up my internet connection and a VPN. Now whenever I log on, I get this error. It says that I have limited access under my setup and when I go to the properties, it says that there is no internet connection. The VPN connection works fine on my mothers Windows 7 PC. Here is a screenshot.

Any help is greatly appreciated because I am right in the middle of a great series. Thanks!

That was the first place I checked when I googled it. Doesn't explain a fix for my individual problem. :(

Hmm try this mate, I'm not that knowledgeable on VPN's

Hi! Here is a workaround found in internet VPN, and it worked fine for me :

Just to update, the legacy Cisco VPN client (5.0.07.0440 for x64, 5.0.07.0410 for x86) is working for some people. You need to apply a small workaround as explained below –

    · Open Registry editor by typingregedit in Run prompt
    · Browse to the Registry Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services\\CVirtA
    · Select the DisplayName to modify, and remove the leading characters from the value data upto "%;" i.e.

o For x86, change the value data from something like "@oem8.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems VPN Adapter” to "Cisco Systems VPN Adapter”

o For x64, change the value data from something like "@oem8.inf,%CVirtA_Desc%;Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows” to "Cisco Systems VPN Adapter for 64-bit Windows”
    · Try connecting again

Doesn't work either, there's no CVirtA directory on my Registry Editor. I think that that fix was for a specific modem...

THAT'S IT! Thank you sooooooooooo very much for finding that! Lets me connect to Netflix now :woot: Turns out the problem was because it wasn't SSTP default like it is on Windows 7! Thanks again! Repped and thanked!
