Hard Drive issue

    i need help with my HDD.

    i have a 20 GB hdd that i was using as a usb formatted Hdd with the transfer cable, since i got a 250 GB hdd.

    when i tried to use it from the xbox hdd dock the xbox doesn't recognize it.
    any help is appreciated.

    You can try cleaning out the female connection on the xbox with caned air, and making sure it's seated correctly. Was the drive used or new?

    you need to format youre new hdd to youre xbox go to you xbox system setthing go to youre hdd and format youre new hdd by typing youre serial nunber ( serial nunber location where you put youre usb ) hope i answer youre problem ;)

    its the one that came with my xbox i have a 250 gb hard drive now so i just use the old one as usb storage the xbox recognizes it as usb but when i dock it in the hdd dock it does not appear.

    It sounds like you figured out your own problem, you said "I just use the old one as a usb". If you connect it to your console via usb, and save data to it while connected that way it makes sense that it reads it at a usb. You may want to try transferring the data off it, and then formatting it while connected to the dock so it will be recognized properly. I can only surmise the recent update that allows up to a 32gb flash drive to be used could cause a similar issue.

    what im saying is it only reads it as a usb and not in the dock. i need it in the dock to play xbox games since my 250 gb was a third party hdd that doesnt allow playing halo 2

    Try to transfer everything to the 250 and delete the Xbox storage off it. Then try to connect it to the dock.
