Ok so i wanna flash my xbox 360 drive I had someone else do it once before but then i updated it and it was a sneaky xbox update that flashes your dvd drive and put it back to normal anyhow I need to know if i have all the rite tools before i try ok these I bought these as a kit a few years ago and apparently this is all i need just need someone to confirm this thanks.
its a lite-on dvd drive the tools are Xtractor sata to dvd and a device that powers the dvd and that can eject it How do i know what kind of xbox 360 i have?
I just wanted to know if it was a phat or slim model, doesn't matter anyway nevermind . Well I never used the xtractor and maximus, rather the probe 3 with the ck3 to extract the dvd key and flash the lite-on drive. But yeah it looks like you have the hardware. But not sure if that sata to pci card will work or not. The one I was told to use is the VT6421A. Dang I guess I can't help you without doing some research on those parts. I don't want to mislead you and end up causing you to ruin your xbox. Did your friend use the same tools to mod the same xbox?
should be all you need if it's not a lite-on since some of the lite-ons require the probe 3. never used the maximus so i can't tell you if it will work with the new lite-ons but you will know as soon as you try to dump your fw if it will work or not. if it doesn't dump, no harm done, just see if someone can reflash it for you or get whatever you may need to update your current kit to work with the new drive fw.
ahh i couldn't get the probe to extract the files so i bailed for now my dad tells me the other guy you modded it last time mite have worn off a bit of the solder Damm
Yeah man as caboose said you will need a Probe 3 if you have a lite-on, Thats the only drive that does need a Probe to flash. All the other equipment you have is good to use for flashing
