So a while back I bought a xbox360 and it worked fine. I put it aside and I was going to sell it today, went to test it out and it would not read the disk. Long story short I went to adjust the laser and got a bit overzealous and forgot what I had done(how much I adjusted it). Now I am trying to figure out if I can fix it. Anyone know if I fix it? I feel like an ass so any help would be great! Its an old lite-on
should be able to just keep pot tweaking the laser until its in the right position to read games, just keep trying a game once you have tweaked.
yes you can fix it aslong as youv not burned the laser out normaly liteons are at about 6.35 - mybe 6.50 so id try going to 6.30 then lowering down a little till you get a setting that works for retails backups and dvds it can be time consuming one thing but never ever go past 3.20 anything lower will Flubber the drive after a short time only do this if you have to
key is to just do a little at a time if you take the magnet out the top of the case you can have the drive sitting inside the xbox while powerd and that saves major time just after you tweek shove game in then hold your finger on the magnet and let it spin also 1 more tip have your multimeter touching the drive while you tweek it its way more easy to just go down around 0.05K doing it like that the only other advice i can really gives to have patience because ive sat for about 10 hours doing a guys a few months back it can be easyer to buy a new drive if you have the cash
yup multimeter's are perfect for this sort of stuff Post a thread in the wanted section maybe you can get one cheap here on XPG, On have a look on ebay mate.
