well I just went to play abit of black ops but my disk drive is not reading any of my disk, when I put one in it says reading for like 2 sconds then says open tray just to clarify its NOT the disk.
Mate 100% your lens strange for it to die that fast but yeh must be your lens theres a shop on ebay called cd247 there the ony fckers i trust.
Try adjusting your laser. It sounds like thats the problem , because from what you described the disc is still spinning up so the motors ok. Take the top off of your drive and have it with the back facing you. On the laser unit you will see x2 little screws , tuen the one on the left a whole turn clockwise and test.
