    Hi guys,

My console is flashed with LT 3.0 and I bought a backup of Dragon's Dogma (I don't have an iHas burner yet) which was burned using iHas but is patched with 2.0 topology data. I have read somewhere that renting the game and installing it on your HDD/USB and then using a truncated backup to play the game will make it work, so I was wondering if this backup (patched with 2.0 topology) that I got will install on my HDD and let me play using a truncated burn correctly patched with 3.0 topology?

    Thanks!

Yes. That will let you play but the console uses the disc in the drive for verification, so it will not be safer online but the game will be 100%

iv always thought even if you installed them game into your xbox you will still need the disc to play the game. all it does when you install the game is stop it from making any noise :|

It still does security checks on the disc in tray.

Thank you for the reply Wallsch! I'm ripping the game right now and will be buying a flash drive later to try the game. I don't play on Live so it doesn't matter to me if it's not safe. As long as I will be able to play Dragon's Dogma and Forza without an iHas burner, that's great. I'm planning on building a new desktop before christmas and hopefully I'll be able to find an iHas B drive here in the Philippines. Hope it works!

Hi Wallsch, I've burned the game twice but I'm getting disc is unreadable on both burns. I already have the game installed using the iHas burned backup patched with 2.0 topology. Are you sure this will work? Because I don't want to keep wasting discs if it will not. Thanks in advance!

Burned 3 coasters so far. Still getting unreadable disc error. Tried clearing cache, restarting the console, deleting the title update, MP3 trick and still nothing.

if you are getting unreadable disc errors then the disc is probably not patched correctly. did you run it through ABGX to see if it verified

I run all of my games using abgx, incorrectly patched games give the disc unsupported error, not unreadable disc. Anyway, I decided to give up and paid someone to burn a copy of DD and Forza 4 using iHas for me. It looks like this so called "rent method" does not work.
