Xbox Live Under Threat From Modders

Xbox live is now in real trouble as modders now have the ability to get their Jtags and RGH online once again.
If you remember the old days when every game on Modern Warfare 2 you joined was modded , everytime you played Call of duty 4 you was thrown into a modded lobby , then you will know what to expect.

Games such as Halo , Call of Duty Black ops , Modern Warfare 3 are going to be turned upside down by modders.

After the days of MW2 being destroyed by modders , Microsoft took steps to prevent Jtags from getting online. These security measures have now been circumvented and once again the masses have the means to connect their modded Xbox 360 consoles to Xbox live.

If you dont already know what a Jtag or RGH is , its basically a modified console. Once the console has been xploited it allows the running of unsigned code ( homebrew) . This gives modders the ability to rewrite parts of games and run them on their modified consoles, these are known as mods.

The recent release of methods to get online is great news for modders but bad news for legitimate gamers.

What are your thoughts on this, do you think that Microsoft needs to step up its security , or do you enjoy modding games online?

    Let us mod...

Games seem so much more boring and repetitive if not.

Hold on let me on my soap box here *adjust footing* OK now.

I personally think modding in game content should be for in house gaming not live, a sort of "house rules" version. If you feel the need to mod while on live lock your lobby to friends or invite only. Leaving games open to the public is what's going to have the exploit shut down just like what happened in the past. It'll only take a few complaints and there goes your live one jtag again.

Now of course I'm people are going to argue that but I have experience with this. The original Xbox was modded at a time when Halo 2 was hugely popular so of course you ended up with modded lobbies and modded consoles were banned from live. With every loop hole found Xbox shut it down. Jump a head a few years and jtags hit the scene on the 360 and before you knew it they were all blocked from live because modders couldn't help themselves and regular folks complained.

It's only going to take one serious complaint to get this shut down. So I am asking that with this exploit try to play it smart and if can spread the smart message. Lock your lobbies, Invite only people you know, or just use Xlink Kia or XB Link. Lets try to make this exploit last longer then a week.

Microsoft should just find a way to separate modders from the legitimate gamers. Then everyone is happy.

Like if a user flags them they are no longer allowed play with regular users unless invited?

In the eyes of a corporate entity like Microsoft modders are pirates and or hackers and pirates/hackers are modders. We all look alike under the scope. This means we are bad for business and profit. We modders would never get fair treatment from a corporation.

Sony had mulled over the idea of letting hackers just be hackers when the psp was still young in order to save money on patching the os and firmware every month. This idea threw their share holders into a fit and they scrapped the idea and no large scale corporation has tried it since.

Wont be long until this is patched.

My Thoughts - Up the security as it will just ruin the games ;)

I don't mod game on xbox so far
kinda enjoy pretty much most games

and I do cheat on android, esp those freemium games (Glu mobile's crap etc)
but it spoilt the fun, after you got tons of money/credit,
the game is fun in first 5 mins ...but the invincibility bored you afterward
but 1 thing about freemium game on mobile device,
if you don't pay for items you'll need to spent trillion years to advance.... which suck
