Question about flashing slims...

    Somebody has just offered me the box below (1 month old) with 3 months xbox live also for a phat flashed box with 10 games of their choice. All I want to know is whats the difference between flashing a slim and a phat drive and would I be able to do it with my xusbpro v2 I am buying 2moro? If so think I may have got lucky here all I have 2 do is burn 10 games ;)

    Slim needs a chip or drilled through the PCB chip to be unlocked for flashing. (LiteOn)

    Some of the slims you have to buy a PCB replacement for them and other way is the drill hack which ADDZ done to mine

    I think that xbox has a unflashable drive (for now) but I could be wrong :)

    The chip is less than £10 including P&P, it's simple enough to install and other drives need the chip drilled to short it and unlock.

    This drive is unflashable, it's 1175, the firmware doesn't exist yet.

    She's just told me she is willing to wait a couple of weeks so maybe if I try and get a cheap phat and flash it then swap that then that would be best as I don't wanna give the box evo gave me as It holds a lot of love :p

    Plus This could b a helpfull learning curve 4 me 2 flash slims :)

    Exactly what Im thinking. She said she just paid £215 for it n that was without the games. I mean it's gna cost me what? £40 for a box, flash it then 10 games is gna cost me £10. £50 Maybe £60 tops cus she wants a controller and leads but may have sum spare leads so Im happy with that :)

    do it dave bargain! I did a decent bargain like this a year ago man i swapped a elite i got for £25 flashed it etc.. and swapped it for a 250gb Slim;)

    Naaaa m8, Im an online modder through and through. Just a shame their isn't as much of it about these day's. I mean what wud u rather do mada? Sit in ur room and mod a few games on ur own or here ppl sit their trolling a few nubs online with a mod menu? Ahhhh let's not kidd ourselves. We all wish we could go back 2 those ballswinging contest day's! ;)
