Anyone have any tips on getting Slime? I've went in to random caves (a lot of them) and haven't seen a single slime thingy, P.S this is on a friends world we're building together so he won't mod it.
Slimes spawn only below layer 40, Big Slimes require a 3x3x3 space to spawn, small Slimes require a 3x3x2 space, and tiny Slimes require a 1x1x2 space
nothing i can say mate, they spawn 10% as much as other mobs which means they are relatively rare, your friend would be looking for a long time.. if any.. there are many bugs associated with things not even showing up on the world at all.. for example clay and cactus.
Easy man ... build a Slime Farm... you build it goo enough you can get about 50 slime every 10 min's.. hit youtube up or hit me up tamor or somthing
Don't you need at least 1 slime to make a farm? or just a 40x40 room, 3 blocks high, 4 blocks above bedrock?
You just need to make sure they farm is large enough to cover multiple chunks as Slimes only spawn in about 10% of chunks. Given that each chunk is 16x16 blocks, to get a good chance an area just above bedrock around 100x100x6 would be a good size to get as many spawning as you can, and remember to flood it with torches. This will minimise other mobs spawning and maximise slimes spawning, and remember no mobs spawn within 24 blocks of you so keep leaving the area or just roaming around the farm
Slimes only spawn in certain random chunks & below layer 16. To find which ones do use this tool. http://extension.ws/minecraft/slimes.html The tool tells you the X,Z coordinates for the corners of each chunk, so you just need a map. The best way I was able to do it was to find 2-3 chunks near each other and then start at level 16 and make several more "floors" going down, each 3 tall.
