I was in the middle of hotswapping my retail and i disconnected the cables from the disc drive and i removed the top of the disc drive then placed the cables back in the back and when i went to boot the xbox i just got the e64. i think the SATA cables just gave in... fml :arr:
Make sure the drawer is fully closed, and the cables are back in the right way up, and the drawer is fully closed.
E64: DVD Drive Error - Dvd drive timed out during reset :Wrong firmware, dvd is without f/w chip, etc. This can also be caused by the tray not being fully closed on boot. also it could mean that the Kernel can't be launched/signature in NAND Flash chip is broken It could be possible after bad update. This might also be caused by a bad SATA cable. so a new sata cable may sort you out or as bullet said check the drive over its closed cables in proper etc good luck
seems a bit odd the the sata cable would just " give out" I would make sure that everything is back as it should be first.
hotswapping dosent ruin your xbox ive done it before check your cables you might just have to get replacements cables
yeah but like bullet said ive never seen a sata cable just give out on its own unless its been ripped out the drive or had bad treatment has your drive mybe been knocked or something seems unlikely the cable would just break on its own i could be wrong but ive never seen that happen before theres a good chance its summit else m8
