I think if you want to change your name and the username is already in use then you should be able to request for the name of the account to be changed so you can change yours (Only if the member has been inactive or over a long period of time.) For example: I want to change my name to Carmine... This member: http://www.xpgamesaves.com/user/38131-carmine/ Already has that name but he/she signed up to the site in aug 2011 and hasnt been active since. I think that the username should be changed on that account as it hasnt been used since the register date. (Add a rule of name squatting.) What you guys think?
Why isnt it?, If the member clearly doesnt come on this site anymore then there is no need for them to have that name..
Since name changes are a premium perk only anyway something like this would incur some sort of a charge. Thats not to say that it isnt possible.
But if the member that is hogging the name hasnt been active on the site for ages like the one im on about, Would you guys change the name of the account to something else so that the premium members can change it to that?
Its not quite that striaght forward right off the bat. As i said its not impossible, but i would need to revise a few things and implement guidlines.
just change to oOCarmineOo boom problem solved a lot of work goes on behind the scenes keeping xpg up and running and the site it is today we all no and love you need to remember also bullets married has a fulltime job and priorities in life other than xpg let him look into it in his own time m8 hes always sorting loose ends behind the scenes no body ever even notices im sure he will look into this when he has a spare 5 mins he will probably have to juggle other things around this
Im not saying this wont be implemented. All im saying is that if i do it for one person i need to do it for everyone. That being the case i need to set certain things in place.... All ideas are welcomed.
