Shoutbox suggestion..

After the thread about no modding talking , support etc in the shoutbox maybe think why does it update with every post on a thread.???all the shoutbox seems to be full of is updates on peoples posts. I thought it was just a place to have pointless banter etc

 

Why even make this thread! Rules are in play. Abide by them simples

its just a suggestion. after the thread about that it just got me thinking.
If you go to the shoutbox i counted 12 updates on posts in threads and new members joining between actually members posting in the shoutbox. just seemed like a good idea that is all

 

the shoutbox is a place for pointless banter but the auto updates on topics and members is 1 of the reasons this place aint Fecal Leaking deep in spammers and troll members

lets say it wasnt there (specially for new member signups)
without it i wouldnt be able to see offensive names signing up i would have to wait untill they post before i could do something about them

with seeing every new name signed up and it auto shouting it in the shoutbox it helps me and the rest of the staff get ontop of problems before they ever arise

same applies for every reply to posts
its more for the benefit of the staff than members and is just 1 of the many measures we have in place to stop spam and offensive members

 

What's spam and who are these trolls ! I've seen neither on here since I signed up last year .... Cracking good job the staff do

 

yep the updates in the shout helps me as staff keep on top of things like spam and trolls etc why having a laugh in the shoutbox at the same time

 

The shoutbox is a place for pointless banter. The topic alerts are to show members the most recent posts, so that they can join in with the community in the latest topics.

As already stated, it also helps staff to moderate the topics to keep an eye out for spammers etc.

 

If those updates weren't there people wouldn't get a lightning reply

It's simply to let staff and members what's going on. Even when ur chillin in the sb ur still checking out ppl's posts at the same time. U wanna know whats going on on the site and usually thats where we find out 1st.
