Hello. My name is Jesse. I am an Xbox 360 user and i only have 2 Xboxes. I do not Jtag but i am a fan of a nice hotswap with system link. I am currently into modding and taking Dead Island beyond what has been seen anywhere so far. Before Dead Island i was super into Black Ops Zombies Glitches, and as far as i know, i know a glitch on Black Ops Zombies map "Five" that still lets you get on the tables even with the updates that no one else knows or knows how to do. Pretty much anything i will have to talk about will probably be about Dead island. I have been working with a developer of a Dead Island modding program for about a month now and i think we have reached as far as we can go. In dead island (without modding the 360 itself, or the game files) i can actually drop Blueprints and Dev Crafts on the ground for other users to have, as well as all collectables. I can Fury forever and hold 65,118 items in my "Back Pack" or "On hand" inventory and still pick up more in-game. Unless i find a way to hold "Heavy" items, like bricks, propane tanks, etc in the inventory, it looks like modding Dead Island is all sowed up and there might be nothing left to mod without actually modding game files. Outside of game chat, i am a programmer for about 8 years or so. I am currently developing an Online Hacking Game which has been received very well ($100 was first donation) but development has been very slow due to a recent rewrite of the entire code. I like programming game logic, smoking cigs and helping people out if i can. My favorite game of all time is probably Final Fantasy 9 for the PS1.
Nice intro bro, probably best Ive ever seen lol. I used to use the dev menu on dead island but stopped playing it as it got a bit boring once i started cheating. Anyway Welcome to the site m8, Final Fantasy 7 FTW NOT 9 lol. +rep 4 ur intro
I could never get into 7. But me and my buddy (years and years ago) would get stoned and play FF9 all day for a few months. Was super fun and made me love the game forever. If you had a look at my desktop you would see my ps1 emulator with the final fantasy 9 isos and a whole ton of dead island test saves / folders. Edit: I never used the dead island dev menu because you cant go live in multiplayer. But with the mods i am doing now you can.
They can patch what i am doing pretty easily, just by limiting things. Like if a user can only get '1967' value in health in regular gameplay, why am i able to have basically infinite health. it is because they didnt put limits on things. All they would have to do is release a patch that limits the amount or quantity of things. Even if they did a thing where everything is all limited to (9999) no matter what the item is, alot of my modding would not be possible. It boils down to what i call "Preferred programming". Which is really a way of saying "We will program what is most important, vs time alotted vs resources available", i suppose there was no time or resources to program these limits, or more possibly, it was not considered during development.
Welcome to teh forums! Looking forward to the release of that dead island mods, look nice from what you're describing.
Thanks, it is already a proper dead island modding tool, but i befreinded the developer and me and him together have made it into something that he wants to go premium with. Before i started doing this he had already developed the normal things like changing level, editing inventory items, adding inventory items, assigning mods to items, giving skill tree and importing chapter progression data. But now, with my intensive testing and research, it now does sooooooooo much like modding just about every attribute in-game. I also found out how to make the unbreakable melee weapons, but thats because i had someone give me one to figure out the code. When he is finished taking it out of beta and slapps a release sticker on it, i will see about posting it around here, you will probably see my name in the "Credits" section of the "About" link as BlastingBlondie AkA Runthis. Some of the features i helped create (unlimited health, stamina, fury, inventory, 100% best loot items, etc) will probably be for people that donate. Although thats not my call, i like the fact that not EVERYONE can do it for free based on my hours and hours of research, research, research, usb to computer, usb to xbox, long loading screen, yup that digit changed by one, exit to menu, back to computer, change value by one, back to xbox etc. It has been a full month of pushing dead island to the limits. As of now i can create a gamesave where fire heals you, the trading guy actually pays you to buy items and explosions dont hurt, its crazy and im rambling
