dark souls 2 360 editor, version 13.0

in 2014 i used this editor on dark souls 2 (on a laptop running win xp). on trying to load -GAME_0000 the editor said file |-GAME_0000 is not a valid file name. in 2014 i finally found a workaround, but i cannot remember what i did--same problem now. i tried running the editor and -GAME_0000 from various locations--desktop, folders, etc, all to no avail.
any ideas would be welcome--thanks
