Defo a short somewhere, take the HDD off and make sure there is nothing in any of the USP ports that might be shorting it.

The power brick could have taken a surge and died maybe. I have had this happen to me a couple times in the past. Or I have seen conductive material bridging contacts at the power socket on the mobo, I believe there are 6 connections there. Try another power brick.

Have you taken the mobo out of the cage to check for shorts on the bottom? Check for one of those little dvd drive metal clips, might be bridging a connection.

I've had a red power brick before. Switching did not help, ended up being so frustrated i walked away and went to the gym. Came back and it worked. I left the brick unplugged just try to give it some time and hope for the best!
