This is a converter for Xbox 360 source engine games to convert wav audio files to the Xbox 360 format. Created by UnrealSource. I made numerous tools and mods for the Xbox 360 source engine awhile back such as a texture converter, audio converter, model converter, mod menu creator, script creator, texture packs etc. It has been awhile and I wanted to release some of the mods. Here is the Source Engine Xbox 360 Wav Converter. This tool converts wav files to be used for Xbox 360 source engine games such as Half Life 2, Portal 2, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 2, etc. To use it: Open Unreal360WavConverter.exe Select conversion mode (file or folder) Select the source wav file that you want to be converted Select the target wav file where you want to save the converted file Hit convert and the converted file will be created Make sure not to move any of the dll or exe files that are with the main execuatable. This program needs those files to function and will not run without them. Also, if you like console applications better, the syntax for the application is: Code: unreal_wav -src <source wav> -trg <target wav> Thanks and have fun. Hello UnrealSource, I have a problem, i trying to convert a audio file: ZZZZZ.wav from Portal 1 version PC for to convert output audio file: ZZZZZ.360.wav for use in Portal 1 version XBOX360 ..... but when i put the converted audio file into the game directory and play game Portal 1 in Console 360 only can to hear 3 seconds and sound cut off or stop play ... but the audio originally have 5 seconds or more long duration ..... Can you help me please?
Make sure that the original wav file is formatted correctly and also make sure to precache the sound.
Thanks, the audio original is spanish language for Portal 1 PC and maybe created in bad formatted .wav .... VLC media player can to play this file very good .... But then what can i do? ... i would to send you the .wav file into email for you to analyze this audio .wav from PC ... is only 800 Kb size ... Can you check this file and find any solution for me? or for update your Converter for better compatibility formats?
Ok here put links for 2 audio files for you can analyze ... 00_part1_entry-1.wav http://www.fast-files.com/getfile.aspx?file=122895 00_part1_entry-4.wav http://www.fast-files.com/getfile.aspx?file=122896
Hi UnrealSource, Im waiting for your answer about my questions.... Can you help me or not? These 2 audios .wav than i send for you are normal and perfect files .wavs format .. because the game Portal 1 PC can play it well, and other players like VLC media player and Windows media player too can play it perfectly ! I think than your Converter need some changes or to be updated for better compatibility for all type .wav .... Please, answer me what you think.
There is nothing wrong with the converter. You either need to change some settings in the wav or precache the files. Look up valve source engine documentation if you want more information about the audio files, precaching, etc.
Look, im not an expert like you, i dont understand nothing about "precaching" and i tell you again, my .wavs files are totally normal and playable audios .... but if your program only convert HALF the audio and the rest is only silence, then is not good Converter. i cant believe this.....
OK UnrealSource, please give me one last chance ... I respect your thinking and I agree that your program is good and my .wav files are wrong format Can you create only for me a new program specially designed and adapted for work to convert the format wrong or header wrong than have my .wav files to output file 360.wav with correct audio complete time duration? Thanks
Thanks for the tool! ^_^ Is there any way to convert multiple files at once with this program? There's thousands of sounds I would like to convert.
Thank you for your suggestion. I have now updated all of my converters to have a "Conversion Mode" option where you can choose to convert a single file or an entire folder. Download the latest version of this converter then select "Folder" as your conversion mode and it will convert all wav files in the source folder and save them to the target folder. Be warned that if you convert hundreds of sounds at once, it could take awhile to convert them all. I would do them in parts. Thank you.
