Tipped as PlayStation 4's biggest and best exclusive, Bloodborne is out this week around the world, giving players the chance to delve deep into From Software's latest dark and macabre creation.

Bloodborne Director, Hidetaka Miyazaki has posted a special message to fans eagerly anticipating the game's impending release.

"As From Softwareâ€™s first game for the PlayStation 4, development of Bloodborne was not without its ups and downs. But thanks to the tireless efforts of the development team, and the support of all of the staff at Sony Computer Entertainment, we somehow made it to the finish line," Miyazaki writes on the PS Blog.

"Bloodborne takes place in an old city called Yharnam, where a sickness called the â€œscourge of the beastâ€ turns humans into malformed beasts. And it is here that Hunters will engage in deadly blood-drenched combat. I hope you all get to enjoy this dark, terror-filled, horrific experience."

Bloodborne launches today in North America, tomorrow in Europe, Thursday 26th March in Japan and Friday 27th March in the UK and Ireland. The game has a custom audio mode that you can download for your headset via the PS4 Headset Companion App.
