Sony's Japan Studio has detailed some of the weapon customisation options that you'll be able to fiddle with in Bloodborne when it launches next week. Using lanterns dotted around Yharnam, you'll be able to journey to your home base known as the Hunter's Dream, where you'll have access to a range of options.

It's in the Hunter's Dream that you'll be able to buy items, level up your character through speakng to the Doll (eh?), repair and upgrade your weaponry and gain sage advice from wheelchair-bound old man, Gehrman. Purchases in Bloodborne use a currency known as 'Blood Echoes', while Blood Gems can be affixed to weapons to boost their attack power or add special effects.

Special Caryll Runes can also be used to upgrade your character at the Memory Altar, some of which increase the number of items you can carry or multiply the amount of Blood Echoes you receive from vanquished beasts, for instance.
