its a 250 gig harddrive, but here's what mine says
201 GB free
Games and Apps 25.9 GB
Gamer Profiles 19 MB
Demos 0 KB
Videos 0 KB
Themes 15 MB
Gamer Pictures 824 KB
Avatar Items 756 KB
System Items 513 MB
Music ...

there's no music on this harddrive, but add all the memory up, then add that to my amount of free space, im missing over 20 gigs of memory, its unaccounted for, any suggestions or ideas? look at these for encouragement

generally all storage devices actually give you a fair amount less than what it is labeled as

EX: 250gb = you get about 230gb use able space
20gb = you get 13-15gb or so

hope that helps ,.,your not missing anything ,,that's about normal from what I know

my xbox holds back memory for system updates an stuff but i got one of those trilitons memory units<< idk how to spell it loll. an it just holds back memory just for that its there i just cant use it

when i first got it, it says 250.1 gb, with nothing on it, the other day, i noticed i had an unusually big cod4 file, in duplicated the installed game, and when i deleted one of them, it deleted both, so... i think my harddrive is messed up

trust me I just looked all over it is based on the byte count of a GB...we get shorted on everything we buy

see these 1gb and 2TB drives and their max,,,,check yours on your pc also ,,you'll see

its the same for all storage drives and devices, the missing space is occupied by the drives mbr,firmware etc

here is a brand new 250gb hdd in an xbox with absolutely nothing on it. notice the total size of free space

The system auto takes like 25gb from a 250gb harddrive i dont know why, but it you only pay for a 225 gb, and they claim you get 250gb, robbing ******** my harddrive did the same.
